Shrimp Gratinee

1 – 1 ½ lbs medium size shrimp, peeled and deveined

½ cup melted butter
¼ cup white wine

6 cloves garlic pressed
1/4 tsp tarragon
1/4 tsp rubbed sage
1/2 tsp white pepper
2 Tbsp fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar and mozzarella is best ½ and ½)

Place butter in sauté pan and heat.  Add garlic and sauté until garlic is translucent.

Once garlic is cooked, add wine, tarragon and pepper and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat.

Stir lemon juice into sauce.

Divide shrimp into 6 servings and place on oven proof serving plates.

Place 2 tablespoons of butter garlic mixture on top of shrimp.

Sprinkle ¼ cup of cheese on top of the shrimp and place in preheated oven at 400° F for 8 minutes.

Remove from oven and serve immediately.  A loaf of fresh French bread is a welcome addition to this meal and served with a salad it is a complete meal fit for royalty. Or someone you are trying to impress.

Kelsey loves this dish and in our house we call it Shrimp Grapanay to commemorate Kelsey’s cute pixie voice when she was a baby. When we dined at the Keg restaurant in Prince George it was all she wanted to eat and that is what she called it - Grapanay!  I still smile at the memory every time I cook it.

Cheryl (you remember her don't you?) loves this too and the Keg Prince George as well. Her and Kelsey have a bond so to speak.
